This book is a concise guide to the John Muir Trail (JMT).  It includes trail descriptions (from both directions), mileage and elevation charts, updated topo map sections, and details of the logistics.

Although we haven't yet done this trip, we aspire to do it one day.  We consider this book required reading for anyone planning the JMT.  At the very least, buy it for the mileage chart.  I have personally read this book 3 times (I even own 2 copies of it).

For the detailed information in this book, it gets 4 stars.
